What Personal Data We Collect and Why We Collect It

1. Comments

When visitors leave comments on the website, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://cmed.gr/en/privacy-policy/
After your comment is approved, your profile picture becomes visible to the public in the context of your comment.

2. Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images that contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

3. Contact Forms

By filling out contact forms on our website, you agree that the personal data you provide will be used to respond to your inquiry and to help improve your overall experience on our website.

4. Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may choose to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when leaving another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, several cookies are also set to save your login information and display preferences. Login cookies last for two days, and screen option cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. When you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

5. Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on this website may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor had visited the other website directly.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content — including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

6. Analytics

We may use analytics tools to better understand how visitors use our website and to help us improve its performance and user experience.

How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to automatically recognize and approve any follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

All users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except for their username, which cannot be changed). Website administrators can also view and edit that information.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have left comments, you may request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
You may also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where We Send Your Data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
